Ontario
Ontario is a province located in east central Canada. It is the most populated region and is second only to Quebec in size. Numerous famous and popular attractions draw visitors every year. one of the most famous destinations is Niagara Falls in Toronto, which is the second largest falls on the planet. Tourists view the falls by air, by boat or on land. The force, power and beauty of the thundering water is a spectacular sight and provides an unforgettable experience.
The waterfront area has many interesting sites to explore. The CN Tower stands at 1,815 feet and contains observations decks, to gaze out onto the falls and the surrounding area, and a revolving restaurant. The Harbourfront contains galleries, shops and concerts along with film, dance, theatre, children’s and marine events. A promenade allows access to all of the venues.
The African Lion Safari in Flamborough is a unique destination where guests drive their vehicles through a wild game preserve. View the big cats, rhinos, giraffe, ostrich and baboons up close as they walk alongside the cars. This drive is one visitors do not easily forget. The park also contains Misumu Bay Wet Play Area, a jungle playground, a parrot show, an elephant demonstration, a children’s zoo and a birds of prey demonstration.
The Fort William Historical Park was built for fur trading in the 1800’s. Presently it allows visitors to step back in time to experience what pioneer life was like. The lives of fur traders, settlers and native peoples are re-enacted with numerous exhibits and hands on learning centers. The complex includes 40 separate buildings on 225 acres of property.
Ontario has its own castle. Casa Loma was completed in 1914 and was the home of Sir Henry Pellat. Guests are welcome to tour the decorated suites, secret passages, 800-foot tunnel, the towers, stables and a 5-acre garden.
